Political Correctness

The following is the winning entry from an annual contest calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.

This year's term: Political Correctness.

"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

LOL! I love it Fish; it's exactly right!

I wonder what there is about "turds" that are attracting us today? Wordsmith posted a picture of poop in the snow in Los Angeles, I posted the Kitty Litter Cake, and now this!

I'm laughing. That's a pretty funny definition.

(personally, I like to use a shovel).

... did I mention that I was watching CNN one night when the Paris riots were at their apogee.

The news anchor mentioned that the riots were being promoted by a majority of "African-American" youths.

And I was like... "say what??? "
How did a bunch of American kids end up in Paris burning cars and beating up on french policeman.

Gayle, some times we just have a shitty day (grin).

Karmyn, that just shows you are not into being politically correct.

Pamela, those that strive to be politically corrrect offer much that is laughable to we who call spades, spades (er, square ended digging instruments).

Great point anon #1! I love how someone whose family hasn't been to Africa in 5 generations and someone else who has never set foot on American soil are both "African-Americans".

Cookie, I may not be blogging for a while, if ever. Just don't need the aggravation. I had a blog I ran for about a year http://fishback.blogspot.com/, then one day I was just locked out - never could bet back into that one so I started this current one. About a month ago it stopped allowing me to upload pictures. I tried upgrading to beta version to see if that would remedy it. Never have been able to access that blog since making the upgrade. Pissed me off. Blogging seems like a fun thing, but the ones that have it set up need to do some real work on their system.

Fish, I will miss your blog. I wish you had gone to the "new" blogger, as it works like the "old" one only faster. It publishes almost instantly, and it didn't lose anything when I switched over.

As for publishing pictures, it's always easier if you put all your pictures on the post first, without typing anything. Then, in the HTML section of your post, you can copy and past the picture codes where you want them to be on the post.

The story you sent me about the Marine is on today's Fractured Friday post. Thanks! :)

Gayle, I did go to the new blogger to try to regain the ability to post pictures. It's the new blogger that I cannot access, and if I try to go to the old blogger it tells me I've switched - but nothing I've tried gives me access to my blog.

I understand, Fish. What a bummer! When you went to the new blogger did they ask you to start a Google account and give you a different password? It's possible that's the problem. Have you tried using your e-mail address and your password to access the new blogger? You've probably done that, but I'm just trying to help. This simply doesn't make any sense. :(

This really is a coincidence, I googled turds today myself, looking for a picture for a specific purpose. I found heaps but decided against using them.

Sorry to hear about your blogging kerfuffles. I got sick of blogger and went to typepad.

I just noticed that this is actually the new blogger, you can tell but the colour of the Publish and Preview buttons.

Are you blogging anywhere Fish? Is there a Fish III you haven't told me about?

Darbi, there's no "Fish III" anywhere. I can't even start another without getting another email address because blogger (google) says I already have one with this email addy. I think getting locked out of blogger two times is quite suffecient for me, and though I do read on occasion in the blogs I rarely comment. I may rise again at some time in the future but right now I'm a good bit disgusted with the whole system.
