Gun Show

My brother and I decided to take in the gun show and machinegun shoot at Knob Creek on Saturday, April 12th. The two of us along with his son-in-law, and two grandsons left here about 7:30 in the morning and made the 140 mile drive up there. I guess I should have checked their web site one more time before we left. The April show was cancelled because of flooding, and they had this picture of their entrance posted on their site. We then made a 140 mile return trip.

They will have another show in October, but I'll remember to check their web site the night before we go.

That photo reminded me of the old Dakotas Scandinavian joke. With apologies before hand..:

Reverend Ole was the pastor of the local Norwegian Lutheran Church, and Pastor Sven was the minister of the Swedish Covenant Church across the road. I saw them yesterday standing by the road, pounding a sign into the ground, that reads :
“Da End iss Near!
Turn Yourself Aroundt Now!
Before It’s Too Late!”
As a car sped past them, the driver leaned out his window and yelled, “Leave us alone, you religious nuts!”
From the curve we heard screeching tires and a big splash… Rev. Ole turns to Pastor Sven and asks, “Do ya tink maybe da sign should yust say ‘Bridge Out’?”

Rained out, that's happened before at that shoot. 2-3 years back one of my brothers and nephew asked me to go along but I had to pass as I had other obligations.

The shoot was held that year, but I guess it rained so hard, off and on during the day that they wished they had passed on it also. Mud, mud, and more mud was the way they described it.

Idaho, that's terrible but I laughed anyway.

AGT, we'll see how it goes for the October show. I'll watch the weather a little closer, and check their website before venturing up that way.

Gayle, that was very true, and we all enjoyed the outing in spite of the fact it didn't turn out at we expected. Lot's of fields purple with Vetch this time of year. It seems strange to see purple fields instead of green.
